The beginnings of socially responsible investing (SRI) started in the 1920’s when religious organizations decided that certain industries and companies needed to be excluded from their investing universe. Since that time, exclusionary investing though still active in some camps, has begun to be replaced by more conventional considerations of ecological, societal and responsible corporate governance (ESG). Dr. Greiner will introduce this topic and then segue into a deep analysis of characteristics, risks and a qualitative assessment of what cohorts created from varying SRI-ESG ratings gives you. In conclusion, he will wrap up describing what you need to know to introduce SRI-ESG into your investment process.
