Robert G. Eccles is a Professor of Management Practice at the Harvard Business School. He has written four books on corporate reporting. He has also written over 25 articles and 20 teaching cased on integrated reporting and sustainability. Dr. Eccles is a former and founding chairman of Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) in the United States, and a member of International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).

持続可能な戦略（sustainable strategy）は企業の長期にわたる株主への価値創造に資すると同時に、持続可能な社会の形成にも寄与するものである。企業は、統合報告を通じて、自らが対応すべきマテリアルなESG課題を認識する。投資家や株主にとっても、長期の投資意思決定を行う際にESG課題を考慮することは重要となっている。ハーバード・ビジネススクール教授で、「統合報告書の実際 - 未来を拓くコーポレートコミュニケーション（原題：The Integrated Reporting Movement）の著者であるロバート・エクレス氏が、今後、ESGに関する業績をどのように考慮すべきかについて解説する。
