セミナー詳細
GAMCO currently manages more than $49 billion in assets for institutions, foundations, and private clients. Known as a bottom-up value investor, Mario Gabelli is recognized by the academic community for one of the great intellectual contributions to the practice of value investing: the potential effects of market catalysts as an important component to security analysis. His “Private Market Value with a Catalyst” TM or PMV approach to investing is defined as what an informed industrialist would pay for a business and provides for a margin of safety or a discount to the trading price. Catalysts can be industry-specific events, a change in management, a geopolitical event, a legislative or regulatory change, or specific to the company itself that will help realize returns. This method of analysis examines businesses as a function of their assets and earnings power. Value investors look at businesses as owners of those businesses. Our Team of financial analysts visit with hundreds of companies each year. Gabelli research is proprietary, bottom up, and involves the full utilization of publically available resources. In the presentation, Mario Gabelli will introduce the background on Value Investing and the PMV investment approach by highlighting success cases such as Kraft/Cadbury and BEAM Inc. acquired by Suntory Holdings. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.
