The investment management industry is facing significant challenges that are changing how the industry thinks about performance, the delivery of value and the measurement of success. These changes are taking place against a backdrop of increased regulatory oversight and a growing awareness of the financial system’s instability among all classes of investors. This presentation will discuss how both retail and institutional investors are behaving in the face of uncertainty and what is driving this behavior, comparing global findings with the findings in Japan. It will also examine how the industry’s value proposition must evolve over the next ten years.
